Pacific receives up to $3.2 million annually to support 100 students’ participation in the #CaliforniansForAll College Corps program. Students who complete a year of service through the program receive $10,000 for college.
Pacific’s Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry has a long history of treating some of the Bay Area’s most vulnerable patients, including veterans, children and the homeless.
For three decades, the Expanding Your Horizons conference hosted by Pacific’s School of Engineering and Computer Science has encouraged girls in middle school and high school to pursue STEM programs.
Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy students learn while serving through the school’s Medicare Part D program, which has helped patients save more than $10 million in prescription costs. The school recently launched a mobile clinic van to reach more patients.
Clinics at the McGeorge School of Law provide legal services to those who cannot afford them, while giving students real world experience. The Homeless Advocacy Clinic was the first in the nation to provide legal services to formerly incarcerated individuals who are unhoused.
Pacific’s Division of Student Life recently equipped a Manteca homeless shelter with more than 100 wooden bed frames, dressers and desks salvaged during residence hall renovations, helping those in need while diverting 800 pounds of waste from landfills.
The Community Involvement Program is a need-based scholarship and retention program for first-generation college students from Stockton who exhibit leadership potential. More than 2,000 scholars have graduated since the program was established in 1969.
Pacific’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute brings together community members over the age of 50 to take part in classes, outings, events and travel.
Community members with speech, hearing and balance issues can receive services through four clinics operated by the School of Health Sciences. Students in the speech-language pathology and audiology clinics help hundreds of children and adults each year.
